East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ)
One of the critical tools for accelerating the country’s industrial development agenda is the new Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Programme, which was mandated by the SEZ Act, and was proclaimed on February 9, 2016. The Programme’s main focus was to attract Foreign Direct Investment and export value-added commodities. 2014/15 – 2016/17 Industrial Policy Action Plan – IPAP identifies SEZs as critical contributors to economic development. SEZs are a tool to help promote industrial agglomeration, build the required industrial infrastructure, promote coordinated planning among key government agencies and the private sector, and guide the deployment of other necessary development tools. They are growth engines toward the government’s strategic objectives of industrialisation, regional development and employment creation.
As strategic partners to the purpose-built industrial estate, the ELIDZ, providing marketing and communications services, we developed various internal and external communications campaigns for print, broadcast and digital platforms for the IDZ, targeting all stakeholders.
We focussed on PR, Advocacy, and Organisational Culture Enhancement strategies and campaigns to improve brand equity, unpack and enhance ELIDZ’s value proposition, and strengthen the ELIDZ brand profile through effective stakeholder engagement, communication, market research and strategic communication support:
The Get More campaign effectively unpacks ELIDZ’s unique selling points to investors.
We created multimedia tools such as the Value Proposition to Investors, positioning ELIDZ as a world-class manufacturing platform and a prime location for investment.
The Impact campaigns sought to tell the story of the ELIDZ’s impact on transforming the economic landscape of the Eastern Cape province. They showcased the quantifiable impact that the ELIDZ has made on local economic development in the province and the country, focusing on SMMEs, meaningful employment and skills development.
The Internal Brand Equity to employees serves as an induction tool, reinforcing the organisational culture of the IDZ.
The ELIDZ Renewable Energy Overview of Market Intelligence Research – sought to position ELIDZ as a renewable energy research and development hub.
The ELIDZ Agro-processing Market Intelligence Research – highlighted the Eastern Cape’s vast untapped potential for agro-processing activities.
