Michelle Obama once said, ‘the measure of any society is in how it treats its woman and girls’. As a woman owned business and long-time member of the Business Woman’s Association (BWA), Design@Bay tries to celebrate woman on every possible occasion. So although we as a country officially celebrate Woman’s day on the 9^th of August, as an agency we couldn’t miss the opportunity to also celebrate woman today as it is International Woman’s Day.

This is because we firmly believe in celebrating the achievements of both woman and girls and also believe in treating woman as equals, as we would men. The phrase empowered woman empower womanshould be like a subtle yet unambiguous thread, running through the essence of societies all over the world. As an agency we recently, in collaboration with the Port Elizabeth BWA branch, initiated a competition aimed at elevating other woman entrepreneur’s, who are members of the BWA, and their businesses.

The competition called Advancing Woman in Business through Strategic Branding and Design, is completely centred on woman and seeks to, with additional help and professional support, give woman owned businesses that extra push they may need to achieve specific goals. The winner will win 3, 1 hour long free consultation sessions with Design@Bay which will comprise of our winners receiving expert communication solution advice as well as tailored branding counsel.

As our competition slogans suggests, we are excited to help woman unlock their true entrepreneurial potential and as an agency endeavour to continuously celebrate the advancement of woman in business.
